Yes. As with a conventional ball bushing, the balls are held in place by a cage. When removing, however, care must be taken to ensure that the bushing and thus the lugs on the wiper are not twisted. Therefore, before inserting the shaft into the torque ball bushing, it must also be checked that the ball tracks and the lugs of the seal are in line.
Yes. We can supply you with the following torque shafts:
- Torque shafts cut to the required dimensions
- Shafts or hollow shafts machined to customer drawings
- Reworked torque ball bushes, e.g. with additional holes or flattening on the flange
The main difference is the shaft diameter.
As experts, we only supply hardened and ground shafts made of Cf53, also as hollow shafts or hard chrome-plated, and corrosion-resistant solid shafts made of 1.4112.
Our ball bushings are only preserved with an anti-corrosion oil and are greased by the customer during assembly. This initial greasing is usually sufficient for lifetime lubrication.
The only exception here are our torque ball bushings. These are initially greased at the factory and must also be relubricated regularly. (Under normal conditions every 6 months or after 1000 km)
The following applies to standard ball bushings: max. inner diameter (d as per catalog) - min. shaft diameter = max. play
For example, for NB02-030 and 30h6 shaft: 30.011 - 29.987 = 0.024 mm.
However, as at least 2 shafts are generally used for a ball bushing guide, the play is reduced by misalignment and shaft offset. If a backlash-free guide is required, slotted KB with slotted, adjustable housings can be used.

Stainless steel shafts and ball bushings are not made from tenitic stainless steel, but from martensitic stainless steel, as this must be hardenable for ball bearings. This material therefore also has ferritic properties such as magnetizability.
magnetizability.
Although stainless steel tolerance sleeves are made of tenitic, non-magnetizable 1.4301, cold rolling the strip material and forming it into a tolerance sleeve creates a martensitic structure, which is responsible for the magnetizability.
